Ok. But if he was a tenth as talented, but Italian, you'd be jizzing yourself into a walking frosted honey bun.
Two guys have gone the distance with Sims in 20 fights ..and neither has otherwise been stopped. Rayco Saunders has fought 57 bouts and only been stopped thrice - and Sims is the first person to actually knock him out since 2003 (his loss to Artur Beterbiev a decade later was a corner retirement). Mateo Verón has fought 59 bouts and of his 26 losses only nine have been via stoppage.
Punch selection plays right into what we're talking about with footwork. When you're always in position to punch you have an endless variety of what you can throw at any given moment. Im a huuugggeee Willie Pep fan and it was him that made me a huge fan of footwork.
His mom looks like she could be a little bit Italian. Maybe there's hope yet that Forza will climb aboard the Sims Train. This content is protected
He was quite active when he first signed for Hearn. He had 5 fights in quick succession but then has been relatively inactive with a 6 month break. During which time I noticed him smoking blunts on his Instagram story and what not. I wondered what was happening with him. I’m glad he’s back and back in the mix because he does look extremely talented. I’d like to see a decent step up in opposition though and see how he gets on.
Sims vs. Plant would be tremendous, but it seems the young man wants to clean out in the UK first... literally all of his call-outs lately have been of Brits rather than countrymen.
He changed trainers in the gap. Fighting Roamer Angulo next on the Miami card, start to see what hes really made of now.
I would strongly favour him over Callum Smith who is a weight bully and overrated of defeating an essentially injured and diminished George Groves.
