Andy Ruiz's height is 5 feet 11 inches which indicates that he is not big enough to fight in full weight he is overweight 60 pounds or so
He should be a LHW, or SMW. Now all he has to do is lay off the chimichangas and Popeyes chicken sandwiches for a couple years and he will be ready for a fight with Canelo.
Pretty sure that last June he knocked the crap out of an undefeated, unified champion at heavyweight. Pretty sure a light heavyweight who’s carrying just a bunch of extra lard isn’t going to accomplish that.
There's no such thing as height class, his height is irrelevant. His body structure, mass and weight is what matters. Even if he got rid of the belly, he'd still be a HW.
Tyson was roided to the max. 220lbs at 5'10 with abs showing. Those are 1970s Mr Olympia stats and we know those guys injected everything under the sun.
He’s a fat cruiserweight, and that’s being generous. He looked like he at least had 100 lbs of extra fat to get rid of in his last outing.
Tyson was on peds imo from a very young age, no way 220 was his natural weight, hes lighter now than when prime ??People think its his vegan diet that he doesn't even bother with, just like his Muslim conversion..If he was a natural 220 fighter he be weighing in the 250's imo after retiring, he actually looks smaller
Not being funny, but why would you want to look like that in front of your kids and millions of people watching? Even if it made you a decent boxer, its the reason no one took him seriously till Joshua. Its the reason why even after he beat Joshua the reporters and news outlets reduced him to a cute lovable boxer who was inevitably going to lose to Wilder/Fury, not a champion in his own right but a source of embarrassment for Joshua.
Put it this way, Dave Allen is a small chubbed up HW. Dave Allen saw Ruiz in person and was surprised how small his frame was, smaller than him. Without drugs or fat, you can only be so naturally big at a given height. Height and weight are not directly proportional but they are strongly related, obviously. The other clue Ruiz is not a natural HW is the fact he's a known slacker as far as training goes. You cannot put or maintain massive muscle bulk if you are not a gym rat. Therefore his bulk is mainly fat. People don't like this because it makes the KO of Joshua even worse. But realistically we should expect boxers above a certain weight to be capable of hurting any man if they land on the button. Having said that, Joshua got KO'd by a fat SMW, shame on him. Remember when people were going after Fury for being dropped by Cunningham, who had no bodyfat at 210lbs, legit over 6ft. Cunningham is bigger than Ruiz, a legit cruiser and small HW (only by modern standards).
No he's not a big boned or muscular guy. He has skinny legs for one. His gut is huge and he has tig ol bitties. Even in the first fight he was at least 40-50kg overweight. He's not a 1990s George Foreman who had a lot of muscle mass as well as fat. He's not even like the heavyweight version of James Toney. Without the fat he'd be less than 200lbs, more like 180-190lbs.
