AJ took some bombs in his fight with Wladimir Klitschko and managed to get up after that devastating right cross. Even Wlad himself said that he hadn't thought that AJ is coming back after that punch. He recovered very well and closed the show in the 11th round. I haven't seen a glass jaw.
Don't know if I'd call it great but definitely good, maybe very good. Pulev was finished by lesser shots and he was supposed to have a good chin before meeting Wlad.
AJ always had a good chin. I knew it from his amateur fights vs Savon and Mejidov. Nistor stopped him but AJ' defense was horrible at that time and he was still standing. If AJ had suspect chin he would've never got up in time in the 6th round.
Good chin, not necessary great. He certainly can be hurt if landed flush. Credit to him for slipping so many left hooks, that I thought one, if got through can definitely put him away. The short right he took from Wlad at the end of round 10 is similar with the one Kov put Ward down with, and he took it just fine.
Correct the trolls have been vanished, w lad hit Aj with many fight ending shots and Aj overcame all of it to truly dethrone the great wlad. Oh what a night !!! Hate to admit it but UK fans are the best and most loyal fans. That place was electric, I could feel it from my living room... Never seen anything like last night
Actually Wlad was the one who needs to get some apologies from some experts over his chin... He took some bombs flush and remember Whyte was KTFO by the same uppercut Wlad didn't even go down from (although he was gone then). Everyone think Whyte has a great chin..
Joshua was prepared and focused ..THIS helps taking a punch bc you are aware of the danger.Whyte caught Joshua off guard as he was coming in and toying with whyte at that point. This is why Wlad also took some of joshua shots that were ending fights.fighters will fight harder in title fights of this magnitude.
I never thought WK had a bad chin, not granite but still respectable. Certainly intact enough at 41 to survive that hellacious uppercut that as you say totally finished off Whyte. He was still able to defend himself at the end too, slightly early stoppage. I think if he got to the bell he'd have recovered to make the 12th another war.
Nah. He doesn't. He sure does have a promoter that looks out for him doe! This content is protected Man how some things change huh?!
Both uppercuts he took were monstrous. He showed great heart getting up and tried to weathered the storm. I think the referee has already gave him extra seconds in both KDs by slowly asked him to move forward and wiped his gloves. So even though no flush punches were landed on the stoppage, I'm not too upset with that. I have the same hope as you for the 12, but I think Joshua will eventually put him away. Wlad did well, but I can't help to feel a bit saddened.
