It seems like they'd be the same. I've only done the sledgehammer and tyre once though.

What worries me about chopping wood, is. Before Chain Saws came in, the profession with the most number of Heart Attacks, were Lumberjacks :yep.

so theres like a few stumps in my yard

so the last couple summers id spend about half an hour a day tearing the stumps apart wth a pick axe.

id just slam the pick axe into the stump as hard as i could and pry off mulch like chunks of wood then do it again for about half an hour every day.

    great exercise.

similar to tire training but alittle diffrent since i pry the pick axe around and have to get it unstuck from the stump after i swing.

id say wood chopping is a bit diffrent for the same reason, some times you dont get the log with one swing and have to pry the axe out. you also have to pick up the logs for the cutting block and then pick up the split logs to stack them.

I absolutely love it. Favourite single conditioning exercise ever.

I'm trying to hunt down a 20lb hammer locally, but the biggest I've been able to find is 16

oo interesting , by very good to see some video , iv you tubed it but cant find anything!

i guess you get a more constant resistance with the bands? i find the med ball rotational slams great but you have to tend to let go of the ball a bit early so its not quite the same range of motion as a sledge hammer
