2 months ago I punched by accident something stronger than my bones and got a BIG third metacarpal fracture, now I have one BIG bone callus and doctors can't believe I didn't have surgery (surgeon didn't wanna work that night I guess). The thing is, now I'm doing physiotherapy and the traumatologist told I could go back to boxing in like 3 months, so I'm planning to start training again in May, but I'm so insecure about punching specially heavy bags. So I need help about choosing new gloves that could prevent any injury specially the first months while the bone is still recovering. Never tried Winning gloves but many people says it's the best protecting the hand, maybe 16-18oz? Which other options I have?
Being a boxing trainer I will share my personal experience to use Starpro Combat gloves that covers all your boxing needs and ensure protection.
You know title has some very nice boxing gloves. Since you hurt your hand definitely don't go lower then 16oz. Me myself I would use 18oz if possible. You can also use knuckle guards under your hand wraps which work pretty good. Winning gloves are good but hugely expensive but not a bad investment if you really are serious about boxing. Didn't like everlast gloves at all.
