I had Crawford clearly beating Madrimov by 3 points again that was a stylistic issue against a tricky opponent. Madrimov wasn't really engaging and was feinting all night long with good movement I still think Crawford won quite clearly.

I don't see that fight has much relevance to Canelo who's a come forward fighter with slow feet.

But yes I agree its hard to win a decision against Canelo so that does give me some pause.

Let me try and put this into perspective. Charlo was undisputed champion at 154, considered a power puncher, bigger than Bud, used constant movement and couldn't do anything with Canelo. Crawford can box but he is more of a dog than Charlo and the chance of him getting KO'd increases.

I personally believe Crawford is better than Charlo and will give Canelo problems, but in the end Bud will be 38, has never faced a big puncher, never beaten a contender at 168 and is moving up to fight an iron chinned all time great middleweight.

If Crawford would beat Canelo he's literally a GOAT. This is the size of the step up in question. It confuses me why people think Inoue beating Tank would be more impressive, it wouldn't. Recent events have skewed the perception of Canelo like he isn't a pfp great

I mean what about Leonard moving up and beating Hagler after a 3 year hiatus ?

Is that anymore shocking that Crawford beating Canelo ?

I would arguably say Hagler was in better form than Canelo in recent fights.

The way to beat Canelo is throwing 1 or 2 punches while staying on the move - Canelo needs to be set, he’s a very patient to his detriment (at times) fighter with a bit of a Marlon Starling in him, he’ll shell up for stretches where he shouldn’t need to. I haven’t watched Bud Crawford in a while but I think he can stay agile enough to possibly beat Alvarez… the way to beat him has already been shown, not just in his losses but in fights he won, Bud just needs to put it all together…he has a real shot, especially if Canelo is looking as disinterested as he has lately.

You have been following boxing for how long, yet think some random dude posting confirmed on his twitter means a fight is actually confirmed?

This argument makes no sense whatsoever.

Crawford was 157lbs when he fought Postol at 140 at the age 29. I’m not sure Canelo had even hit puberty last time he weighed around that range.

Crawford was 169 lbs against Madrimov in his last fight at 37. The last time Canelo weighed in at fight night was also when he fought at 154, he was 174lbs against Angulo at the age 23 over 11 years ago. He’s gotten considerably bigger since then and was in damn good shape when he fought at LHW. I’d be shocked if he comes in the ring any less than 185lbs.

They’re good two divisions apart, easily. Size difference between Canelo/Bud is more than what it was with GGG/Brook, more than Canelo/Bivol and we saw how those fights turned out. That’s why It’ll be huge if Crawford wins, I mean huge.

In the video, were the fat boys with Crawford or against Crawford?

    I'm so confused.

Crawford has said on his own Twitter he walks around comfortably at 180 and can easily make 168 and that's from the horses mouth.

This is nothing but a cash out by Crawford imho. No way Crawford wins, sure someone will bump this if I'm wrong but I just don't see it.

He's only fought once at 154lbs and yes he wasn't bad but I'm not sure I'd even rate him above Jermell Charlo.

He's moving up a whole 1 stone in weight against someone who is probably even better than he is p4p. That's just my opinion.

I can't call a guy who is taller with 4 inches more reach as much smaller. Crawford is more solid than you think.

Its not just about weight. It is about the Weightclass they were fighting in. Canelo is used to fighting men around his size or even bigger than him. Crawford is the reverse of that, he was fighting smaller men.

I really see Canelo vs Charlo scenerio here. As soon as Crawford got hit by Canelo, he will be in his backpedal the remainder of the fight, if not, then there is a good chance of Crawford getting his first knockout loss if he tries to trade punches vs Canelo.

Walk around weight and fight night weight are two completely different things. Canelo may well be walking around in between training camps around 190-200lbs, but he stopped disclosing his weight after he came in the ring at 174lbs 11 years ago.

The point is Crawford is nowhere close to being a natural Welterweight he cuts alot of weight as do alot of modern fighters now and he said himself he can easily make 168 without it being a hassle.

Crawford is taller than Canelo with a 4 inch reach advantage the supposed massive size disadvantage is way over blown as I said.
