Jai Opetaia, Chris Billam-Smith, Norair Mikaeljan, Gilberto Ramirez. are the current cruiser world champs and the top 4 Breidis just retired. Goulamarian was inactive even as champ so I doubt we'll see him again. Ageing contenders still up there are. Alexey Papin, Mateusz Masternark, Yoniel Dorticos. And there's Brandon Glanton also. Soslan Asbarov is excellent, he would have been a real threat to the top guys for sure, but he's been hit with a long doping ban. So who do you think is the best of the up and comers? Ryan Rozicki , Yamil Alberto Peralta Cheavon Clarke , Andrey Stotsky. David Nyika , Tommy Fletcher, Michal Soczynski, Aloys Youmbi = all decent, who makes the most noise? and is there Anyone else?
I like Nyika. He has a pretty solid amateur background and has great size for the division. Not sure how long he will stay at CW with his 6'6 frame but he looks like a guy with a bright future for sure.
I was able to see him live in Riyadh in his fight against Seitz. He had trouble getting into the fight, but he's a very good boxer with a lot of potential to compete at the top. In my opinion, the following boxers are currently among the strongest in the cruiserweight division: --> Opetaia, Masternak, Cieslak I also follow Cinkara, Glanton and Nyika closely and consider them to be dangerous as well.
Aussie Dave Nyika, Luke Modini (hard punching southpaw) & the Uzbek who won gold in the H/W division at the Paris Olympics (Lazizbek Mullojonov - another southpaw) are the best three out there after Opetaia.
