Given Eubanks Srs history with Barry Hearn, it seems unlikely that his sudden promotion of a Harley/Conor fight is without some knowledge.
Eubank Sr is very Anti-Hearn now, certainly Anti-Eddie He’s been saying he should’ve been trying to clean up America after the Watson fight but Barry steered him to keep defending his title in Britain to make money out of him and money off a Benn rematch who he’d already beaten. The draw basically preventing him going to America with Don King because the Americans only saw him as equal and not above Benn and the WBO below the WBC so he was screwed He’s also spoke of Barry taking more money than agreed during their Sky deal thing, and something about secret ‘double weigh-ins’ when he was champ?? Putting lives at risk
I’m not so sure, it’s not like he would have boxed Jones or Toney even if he had based himself over there. He’s admitted that himself several times. So probably boxing the likes of Glen Wolfe, Prince Charles Williams etc he would have been fine. I doubt he would have even boxed a past it Nunn.
This is interesting as it’s never come out before. He’s most likely thinking about how much money he may have left on the table.
Jones was fighting in front of 25 people at the time. I doubt Eubank had ever heard of him. Toney would’ve been the fight after he beat the man in Nunn. Probably have to go through Steve Collins in Boston first though, in 91.
Of course he would have known who Jones was, especially after the 1988 Olympics. Do you think it would have been different against Collins in 91? I tend to agree.
The begging for the Benn fight is done with zero knowledge, just a result of Jnr not wanting him a part of his team anymore.
Does anyone know where you can find a link to Eubanks rant on Sky Sports about Tyson not raping that women?
Its plain to see Eubank after the Watson fight wasn't the same fighter. I was a huge Watson fan went to their first meeting Earls Court. Close, could gone either way. He took lesser money on the sky deal for least resistance after. Eubank taking the Collins fight in Ireland in Cork on St Paddys day not a great choice but tbh Eubank had looked jaded for a while.
