I have only 1 year boxing experience and I have many questions about this such as.

If you step forward with your left leg. do you have to move your head to the left side or the right side. And in which direction do you move your head if you step forward with your right leg.

Its kinda hard to duck while stepping forward. So what about jumping forward?

And when you step forward with your right leg, are you supposed to step past your left leg? (just like walking)

Do you guys know any tutorial vid? So far they only have people slipping and ducking while standing still.

    check it

when you are slipping a jab through the space that you have next to your right ear and over your right shoulder you should always remember to transfer your body weight over your front leg with it in the same motion.

the motion you make to slip a jab through the space that you have next to your right ear and over your right shoulder is the same motion that you make to throw a right hand. you rotate your hips and in the same motion transfer your body weight over your front leg pressing down firmly on your front foot planting your front leg down hard into the ground. you dont have to try to move your head out of the way. the motion that you are making moves your head out of the way naturally.

that is why when you slip a jab through the space that you have next to your right ear and over your right shoulder you can throw a right hand with it in one smooth motion. the motion of the right hand is slipping it naturally.

thats how shane mosley knocked out miguel pena

or when you slip a jab through the space that you have next to your right ear and over your right shoulder and remember to transfer your body weight over your front leg with it in the same motion you can load that body weight into a left hook.

thats how roy jones knocked out jorge vaca

or you can use the same motion that you make to slip a jab through the space that you have next to your right ear and over your right shoulder to feint a lead right hand.

sergey kovalev is making jean pascal tentative to throw a jab and tentative to get hit by a lead right hand at the same time by using the same motion to counter and feint therefore forcing pascal to have to worry about more than one thing.

a lot of guys get hung out on the end of a jab and dont know what to do but just by remembering to transfer your body weight when you are slipping you turn one basic move into a swiss army knife that you can slip or punch or feint from.

You never step forward with your back foot (right). Unless you're a southpaw.

push off of your back foot sliding your front foot forward with it. in the same motion transfer your body weight over to your front foot planting it down hard into the ground and braking your forward momentum. try doing this for a few reps just to get a feeling for it.

now try throwing your jab with it in one smooth motion.

now try pressing down and pushing off of your front foot and retracting your jab back to your body at the same time with it in one smooth motion.

Not a good idea unless you are a switch hitter.

Its the backfoot that takes you forward though, not the front foot.
