After seeing Rosado vs Jacobs, it's hard not to think about how Rosado would do vs Canelo. Rosado is a seasoned veteran he's lost several hotly contested decisions in his career, but he really seems to be surging into his prime at 34 years old. In the last 5 years, Rosado seems to be getting better as a fighter. And smarter. When he was younger he was more reckless but his level of concentration has definitely increased in the last 5 years. He has taken his game to a new level working with Freddie Roach. He has a ton of stamina it seems, after going 12 rounds with Jacobs the guy still had endless energy like he could go another 12 rounds.

And now he's at a point where regardless of if a decision goes his way, he feels in his mind that he's unbeatable. Rosado is a dangerous fighter right now and on his best day I think he could beat Canelo Alvarez. He has the style to beat him, that jab would keep Canelo at bay and Rosado is so defensively sound that he might be able to slip away from most of Canelo's power shots and outpoint Alvarez.

What makes Rosado a difficult opponent for Canelo is his size, he's rangey and if he can avoid Canelo's big shots, and just keep pumping that jab. Canelo might have to stop him to get a victory and I just don't think Canelo has ever had to deal with somebody as hard to prepare for as Rosado. Now could Canelo land something big and drop Rosado, but it won't be easy. How do you see this fight playing out and does Rosado have the style and the mentality working with Freddie Roach to give Alvarez problems?

Rosado was just a young kid when he fought GGG. He has improved tremendously since then.

    Here's my assessment of Rosado-Jacobs:

Jacobs clearly overlooked him and gave him no respect as an opponent (50%).

Roach did some great work (30%).

Rosado is a seasoned veteran (20%).

Rosado needs to prove this wasn't a Fluke before I start rating him.

Even great fighters had off nights against lesser opponents.

But it'd be a hell of a story if he had a Rocky or a Cinderella Man type career.

I think he’d still get pasted by Canelo. Rosado may have improved his game, but not enough to beat a guy like Canelo, who has also improved his game. He doesn’t have the power to deter Canelo, and really holds no tangible advantage.

Rosado might beat GGG right now, If I was him I'll try to avenge his loss and if he beats ggg, A Canelo vs Rosado will make sense.

I don’t know, man. I know GGG has slipped, but the idea that Gabe Rosado is suddenly able to beat the best guys around his weight because he hung with and should have gotten a close win over a reluctant and disinterested Danny Jacobs is asking too much, IMO.

This. On paper Jacobs was gonna tear him up. On paper Canelo will turn him inside out too. Maybe Rosado has just improved a lot or maybe Jacobs had a sucky night out. Let's see Gabe kick ass again before saying he is competitive with Canelo.

Canelo counters him to death and wins by ko/tko mid rounds, the fight is not remotely competitive.
