Personally one of my favorites boxers and I play his character a lot on Fight Night. Loved his duels with Shane Mosley and Jermaine Taylor. However why is he playbae as a middleweight in FIght Night games eventhough he shone as a Super Welterweight.?

Can we just dredge up old threads from 2006 again?

Fight night is good, Tommy Hearns is my favourite on there.
It's a ****ing disgrace they only have 4 LHWs and ones Bernard Hopkins...

As for Winky, I'd say he's top 10 at LMW. So that by my standards makes him an ATG

    Fantastic boxer. Technically excellent.

His first fight with Mosley and the Trinidad fights were near faultless displays. His pinpoint right jab and airtight defense were as good as it got for a period there when he was up there with the elites in boxing.

I personally loved watching him box.

He was a skilled southpaw who kind of followed in the path of Marvin Hagler, Glen Johnson, and Bernard Hopkins in that he was avoided and paid peanuts for years and years before eventually getting a breakthrough fight and getting some decent recognition and money.

Unfortunately he wasn't able to sustain his motivation as long as the other guys. It seemed like he checked out a little after he failed in his bid to unseat Jermain Taylor. He acted like the draw was a robbery on par with Escalera vs. Everett or Ramirez vs. Whitaker, but it was a legitimately close fight, and one that Winky himself blew when he spent the whole 12th round back-pedaling, even though Taylor's eye was swollen shut.

After that he beat Ike Quartey while on cruise control and got roughed up by Bernard Hopkins. That's an underrated win by Hopkins, given Winky's stature, and the fact that Hopkins beat him convincingly. But it was a particularly ugly fight, so I think everyone is happy to forget it happened.
