So Haney is already making excuses for when he loses to Loma calling him a dirty fighter this from a guy who hugs his way to wins. Ans hes also throwing out the ¨everyone knows how hard it is for me to make 135.¨ Hes prepping for his post fight excuses. This joke has no confidence.
Sounds like he’s also mentally justifying himself for spoiling the bout. Fighting negative is the only chance he’s got and he knows it.
It's all just pre-fight mind games and hype. I wouldn't analyse it too deeply. I have a bet on Loma to win by stoppage - the odds were too good to pass up - but a Haney win wouldn't surprise me. His usual jab-and-grab strategy will likely send half the arena to sleep and allow him to cruise to a points win.
He is insecure. Loma will do just as his manager Klimas said. He will wear Haney down and stop him. Pressure will eat Haney up and hugging will not help him.
Except hugging WILL help. A bigger guy laying on you all night also wears you down. Expect Haney to jab, potshot, hug, and try to hit the body as clinches break. Expect Haney to try and be dirty.
someone got in his teams ear and told them loma was going to punch whenever devin goes to clinch. or they figured that out themselves. its a logical expectation. loma will punch huggers wherever he can, when they get too grabby. if the ref starts to warn him about punching on break, he makes a show about being tied up. exaggerating the holding. all fair play. spence does the same thing. he wont allow you to clinch him. except spence has the strength to force that strategy on anyone. you put your arms around spence and he will force enough separation between you, to rearrange your guts. i dont think loma has the strength to do that to haney. not without burning out early. or maybe knowing that loma cant win from the outside, the plan is to just not allow any fighting on the inside. so they are setting the narrative for how they expect the fight to go. they know devin is going to be clinching a lot, and they know they need to be allowed to. by both loma and the ref. so theyre lobbying already.
Good points there i thought the same thing with him putting those statements out there & if the Ref is going to go off at Loma then he should do the same with Haney regarding the initiating of the clinch itself.

I just think he knows Loma will punch when he has a free arm, which he should, and that clincher is ILLEGAL in boxing but he has become accepted!!! I still think DH will use his reach and size to give Loma a long night. May the best man win with no Tony Weeks or Alida Byrd BULL-SHEET
