Depends who you’re asking. Most dedicated fans have been calling Tank a fraud for years now. He’s definitely overrated by casuals though.

Horrible comparisons. Usyk’s win over Chisora has aged very well, and he still won clear. Campbell was also skilled and well rated at the time and Loma won that fight clear too. Roach was a complete cherry pick gone wrong and schooled Tank!

This. Now I do think Loma is better p4p than Davis and Spence (who are also overrated), but Loma was literally p4p 1 on most publications p4p list. Despite the fact that Beterbiev had just absolutely blown up Gvozdyk. That Usyk had cleaned out the deepest division in the sport. That Roman Gonzalez, Terence Crawford, Juan Francisco Estrada, Mairis Briedis, were all putting in big time work around this time.

Yes, Loma is better, but he was literally p4p 1 and hyped as the most skilled fighter ever. He was/is the most overrated fighter of this era.

By his fanbase yes. But for most rational people no. He never fought any top competition his entire career, anyone who isn't a diehard tank fan never rated him that highly.

Wilder's performances against Fury gave people who weren't even fans of him the idea that he was a top heavyweight.

Lomachenko was special at 130 and 126. At 135 on his best day, I think Teo, Shakur, Tank, and Haney all had higher level performances. Keyshawn is also likely better and I wouldn't even rule out Ryan Garcia as having had a decent chance at beating Loma a few years ago. But Lomachenko was supposed to be sitting with Floyd and Pac.

not even close. many have been more overrated. fury and haney come to mind. but there are many more.
this narrative that the fight went as it went because tank isnt as good as people thought, is asinine if you understand some boxing. roach was fully prepared for this fight. physically, mentally, and strategically. he fought at a very high level of skill and execution. the way he pivoted with tank and shot a straight right at him whenever tank swung a haymaker and rolled out, was all preparation. you dont pull it off that well and that consistently on the fly. that was gym prep. excellent work by his whole team.
tank was still fighting at a high level, but roach had answers. roach also carries the new weight well. carries power, and movement is fluid, quick, and balanced. he is going to be a problem for anyone at 135.

I think so. His best win in a 12 year career is still to this day Pedraza, a fighter Loma took on as a tune up just seven months after shoulder surgery when not near 100% and who of course Twink shamelessly ducked for 7 years in his own country on a heavenly stacked deck of a home ref and three home judges. Just another one of the many PBC smoke and mirrors hype jobs riding the PBC hype train

Beterbiev has got to be up there too. He's a one weight champion weight bully who rabbit punched 5 world champions into defeat but 2 were shot, all 6 were his size or smaller, so that leaves 4 and it should only be 3 because he clearly lost to Bivol twice.

This is a P4P resume? Really?

Gvozdyk aka the third best Ukrainian on the Olympic team and who was levels below 1 and 2
    Joe Smith
    Callum Smith
    Cloud - shot
    Campillo - shot

    2 losses to Bivol

In what parallel world did Loma go life and death with Campbell? Lol

As for the Teo loss, I don't think that's aged particularly poorly, considering that Teo grabbed a strap at 140 and is arguably the best fighter in that suddenly talent rich division.

With respect to Haney, most boxing observers believe the wrong guy got the nod that night.

I'd say yes. He's been a p4p mainstay without any real reason. Twice now he should have lost. He's never fought the best in any division.

Definitely a good shout for most overrated.

I'm not only a big Beterbiev fan I've probably been a fan longer than everyone on here. I'm just reminding some of his clown fans that he's so many levels below, both amateur and pro, certain fighters they hate on

One of the worst posts I ever seen in this site. It's no surprise it came from a casual like you.

You’re underrating him by asking if he’s the most overrated boxer of this decade.

This is an outrageous post. Beterbiev demolished prime Gvozdyk. That performance alone shits on anything Loma ever did. He's also Undisputed and never ran away like a school girl against any man.

Amend that post. It is a travesty.
