Jacobs isn't any bigger than Golovkin is. GGG has no problems with his size.

I hear a lot of people saying Jacobs will present a size challenge to Golovkin. Bull****, no he will not. Jacobs isn't even the biggest noteworthy opponent of Golovkin's career. Martin Murray is a bigger man than Jacobs and 1,000 times tougher and more durable too. Murray has gone to 168 and seen little dropoff in effectiveness because he was a massive 160 pounder. Jacobs wouldn't be the same at 168 because he's too small.

Jacobs is tall for MW, but that's it. His reach is only 73" which is not very long for a 6'1" fighter. He has tiny ankles and wrists and narrow clavicles.

He's in for a rude awakening because he thinks he's bigger, but he's not. He will be shocked by Golovkin's sheer strength and size in there. Then he will get hit and go down.

We will see. Good fight. I don't know anyone buying it but I'll find a way to see this. Finally a solid opponent for Golovkin. No excuses after this if he wins. Jacobs will come to win hopefully and put up a fight like Brook did.
Damn shame that out of 36 fights only 3 guys put up an effort. Monroe, Murray and a B level welterweight Brook.

Proksa gave it his all in that fight. Went out on his shield. You could easily say Stevens and Rosado gave more effort than Monroe as well.

So a guy that currently outweighs Golovkin by 10lbs, will certainly outweigh him on fight night, and is 2 inches taller than him as well, 'isnt any bigger' than G

You cant make this stuff up

OP was also taking frame into account. Rubio and Simon were bigger also. Rosado was taller and just as wide or wider but had a smaller bone structure like Jacobs.

Unless you have an X ray machine handy, bone density is a difficult thing to measure.

Not that it matters, Jacobs is taller, longer reach, and heavier. He's bigger, end of discussion.

I think you mean the size of one's frame. Bone density is something else.

Some people say wrist size is a good indication of the size of a boxer's frame.

He is bigger, but it isn't something that Golovkin doesn't regularly deal with. The only thing that could really give Golovkin problems with that I've noticed is speed, but the way he fights and his toughness negates that advantage.

I hear you, and if he weighed the same as G then he would have a point. He weighs more than G... pre fight, during the fight, and post fight, along with being taller. And its not just that G is in shape and Jacobs isnt... Jacobs is in shape, hes just... big.

Who's got the bigger #@*&? LOL

GGG's could act as a counter balance for his punching power.

Just a joke please do not ban me!

    Couple things.

    1. Wrist size changes with weight.

    2. Pac may have giant wrists but Wlad is still bigger than him!!!! You would be insane to conclude Pac is bigger based off his wrist size, there is a near 100 pound weight difference and a foot in height.

    3. We don't even know Golovkin and Jacob's wrist sizes.

    4. They look like similar sized men except for Jacob's height. If there is a difference it's subtle.

Brook outweighed Golovkin on fight night. Outweighed him throughout the camp by quite a lot actually too. Was only 1 inch shorter as well, but was still smaller. Now Jacobs is bigger Brook than too, but the point is similar. Usually when a guy looks jacked up or bulked that usually means he's added unnatural weight for his frame or he's on steroids. Or both. See Marquez later in his Welterweight career for what that looks like.

Jacobs does not have a large frame. He's a pure MW, just like Golovkin is. They're the same size. Look at this picture of Kovalev. He's the same height of Jacobs and doesn't looked "jacked up" at all. He has LHW frame. Large forearms, large ankles, large clavicles, large rib cage, etc. He's a full blown LHW who enters the ring around 185 at 6' and still looks lean. Which means he's got a large frame.

Jacobs the same height as Kovalev can looked "as jacked" as he wants. He's not going to be fooling anybody. He's not nearly the size as he wants to get GGG to think he is. Look at Jacobs in this photo. Compare him to a natural LHW in Kovalev. Same height, but small ankles, narrow clavicles, smaller rib cage.

    No , just NO.

Andy Lee was taller and had a longer reach than Cesar Chavez. He went onto make 154 after that fight , Jr went up to light heavy where he should have been all along.

Walking around weight doesn't mean nothing. If it did Ricky Hatton would have been a career light heavy where he wouldn't have won a single fight.

GGG is more professional with his weight , nothing more. Lemieux can barely make 160 and he was tiny against GGG.

Froch kept close to his fighting weight all throughout his career like GGG . As soon as he retired he said making 168 again was a non-possibility. Same with Calzaghe who never fluctuated - if he would have ever came back it would have been at cruiser weight.

Jacobs will weight exactly the same as GGG the day before the fight. He isn't bigger. End of story.
