Lucian Bute is a 6'1.5 35 year old Super Middleweight with a 32-2 28 KO's 1 KO loss record. Born in Pechea, Galați, Romania and fighting out of Laval, Quebec, Canada. I wouldn't call myself a Bu**** but I consider my self a fan and for some reason I still have faith in Bute, I still think he can mount a comeback as naïve as that may seem. I also fully believed that Froch would do a number on Bute as well, so that loss didn't come as a shock to me one little bit. The Cobra swallowed his soul that night and he's spent the last 3 1/2 years in the wilderness searching desperately trying to get it back. Maybe he should look in Carl's cupboard, he keeps all the souls he's taken in canning jars. Carl had something to prove that night, and I'm not sure any man standing in his way would have survived, and since that match much has been made of Bute's supposed glass jaw, but what people seem to forget is...he never went down, he took shots that would have knocked out a horse...but he never went down, he was stopped on his feet. His comeback was less than stellar a poor performance against Grachev who at the time was undefeated, and the follow up timid performance against Jean Pascal was less than impressive, however a glimmer of light came towards the end of the match with Lucian hurting Jean in the 11th and following up and almost bombing Pascal out of there in the 12th rounds, but alas it was too little, too late.

Before the loss to Froch he was feared by and ducked by Andre Ward because he performed better against some of Ward's opponents than Ward did, and Kessler as well. The only real hiccup up till then was his horrible gassing and near KO loss to Librado Andrade in the 12th of their 1st match, but he rectified that loss with a 4th round body shot KO in the rematch. He beat Zuniga better and quicker than any opponent of his so far, he stopped Miranda faster than anyone ever has, he ended Mendy's career, and he managed to beat Bika better than Ward and Calzaghe. So he wasn't near the hypejob people are trying now to make him out to be. His match against DeGale may be a lot closer than most think'll be, he's by far the best man DeGale has ever been in the ring with, and to put things into perspective, look at what Degale did against Groves and then look at what Froch did to Groves. And ask yourselves another question could Degale beat Froch or Pascal, I highly doubt it. So will Bute win...who knows, maybe or maybe not, but he seems to have his mojo back at least a little bit and this match may be more interesting than most are predicting. Is Bute The Beast Back??? I'm a Bute fan as well and I wish him the best in this fight. I will be ringside for this event but I believe Degale is the hungrier and better fighter at the moment but I'd like to see an upset here with Bute winning it!

For some strange reason I think Bute really is pumped up and has the fire back after his win over Di Luisa.

he has a shot against him. A left body shot. Hopefully he will pull it all together and come out on top. Hard to believe though, but it's possible.

    I think it's 50/50

If it was the pre-Froch Bute I'd favor him 75/25 against DeGale actually.

Degale is going to give Bute that work. I have my doubts about Bute's ability and will to take a punch.

I don't get the hate that some boxers have to digest. Bute is a good boxer, has fought and defeated some scary guys, and is coming back after a brutal TKO. Yes, he got a gift against Andrade, but gave him a rematch (which he didn't have to do) and KO'd him with a body shot.

3 1/2 yrs away from the sport is tough; look what it did to Ali. I give Bute a lot of props for coming back and fighting very good opponents NOT "tomato cans".

I agree a lot with this post. I give Bute huge respect for literally taking on anyone that was put in front of him. he's a classy guy in a classy sport. He's had his ups and downs and he's doing his best.

Fk, no1 could've taken out possessed Froch that night. And even then Bute didn't go down.

The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to think Bute will KO Degale.:think
