In 1999, instead of fighting Botha, Tyson fights Sanders instead. How does this go?

Tyson got off to a very slow bad start here but eventually timed Botha.

If he starts this poorly against Sanders, we could see the upset.

This would have been a very interesting bout. Botha was having his way with Mike until he ran into that crusher right hand.

When in shape, Sanders had good feet and good range. But one has the sense it would only take a single shot from Mike to upset that apple cart... and at the time, Mike was mostly throwing single shots.

    Tyson smashes Sanders into obscurity.

sanders would never make a title shot vs prime Tyson.

but older Tyson, well he was there for taking, sanders if lucky might get him like anyone might on his bad day.

    why sanders?

Tyson would struggle bigtime at that point in his career. Sander's would be getting of first with fast, sharp and very hard shots. If Tyson doesn't catch him early I reckon Sanders could possibly stop him.

thing is that's sanders weakness too - if he don't stop you early hes there for the taking too.

I would still favour old shyt Tyson to outhustle sanders, who never did anything his whole career.

why pick an old Tyson anyway?

surely prime matchups are what we all want.

I seem to remember Sanders trying to get a shot against Tyson after his prison stint. I believe Sanders was still playing rugby and running sprints when Tyson was prime.

    Sanders never ever outlasted anyone.

Tyson was durable and held his power all night.

Sanders was never hard to hit.

    Tyson ko.

Yep. Sanders didn't have the best defense, and at this point Tyson could still counter Sanders if he needed to.
