Could have sworn that I'd seen that Dmitriy Sergeevich Asanov vs. Matías Carlos Adrían Rueda was the advertised co-main; instead turned out to be the second bout on the card. Not too surprised though, Bang Bang Butler mid as he is has always been a draw in Montreal so him co-featuring in an 8-rounder versus a 35 year old isn't the biggest shock.

This is actually being fought not at SMW but at the catchweight of 166lbs.

Farías (who started his career at super welter and has fought recently as high as cruiser) weighed 165½ and Butler weighed 165¼.

 

Two knockdowns before it's waved off.

Butler is now 35-5 with 29 kayos. This is his 10th career stoppage in the 1st round.

With this he gets back in the W column after suffering a TKO9 defeat to Patrice Volny in June for the WBC Francophone middleweight title.
