Just rewatched Povetkin - Huck and scored it. What a fight it was!

Sasha had stamina problems in the fight, but he said in the post-fight that he had great training camp and excellent sparring sessions, so he was ready. He admitted that he underestimated Huck in the ring however

    My scores

    1 Povetkin (close)
    2 Povetkin
    3 Povetkin
4 Huck (big round for Huck)
    5 Huck (very close)
    6 Huck (close)
7 Huck (big - Sasha was badly hurt and Russien commentators said he was on the werge of being knocked down). You can easily score the round 10-8 Huck)
    8 Huck (very close)
    9 Huck
    10 Povetkin (very close)
    11 Povetkin
12 Huck (Huck hurt his tired opponent in the last 20 seconds)

    My score 115-113 Huck

    Crowd loudly booed official result.

Povetkin could barely stand after the fight. Huck had closed eye and a cut. He was also tired.

The fight could be scored a draw but no way a 116-112 win for Povetkin as Stanley Christodoulou scored it.

However, Stanley Christodoulou is an incompetent judge, as he scored Chagaev - Valuev a draw (really 117-111 Chagaev), and 118-109 Alvarez - Trout (very close Alvarez win really), De la Hoya - Mosley 2 115-113 for Mosley to name a few.

Overall, it was very good fight, and a controversial scoring at the end.
Sauerland definitely wanted for Huck to stay at cruiser so he could earn money in CW (Huck) and HW (Povetkin) and I believe it influenced judges' decision. Had Huck won, he'd left cruiserweight and Povetkin - Klitschko mega-million $ fight would be off.

Povetkin lost that, but not on the score cards.. Ask the Sauerland clan why...

Yeah that was an incredible fight. There were times I've never seen Povetkin so desperate in a fight.

Also it should be mentioned that Povetkin was 20lbs heavier than Huck in this fight. 230 vs 210.

Hukic hurt Povetkin in round 7 because he clubbed him in the back of the head about 4 or 5 times.

Wait a minute I just rewatched the round, my memory failed me, he actually clubbed him in the back of the head like 10 times.

Yep. Huck used Povetkin as toilet paper in that fight and was robbed by the judges.

Didn't Povetkin say that Huck smelled like ****? Povetkin couldn't get close enough to Huck without his eyes watering because of the stench.

This fight makes you wonder why Huck never moved up to HW. Someone who can do that to Povetkin can be very competitive with pretty much everyone with some gained weight and experience in the division.

It makes you realize how rank the division is when a first timer at the weight stood toe-to-toe with Povetkin and beat him up , while Wlad the Champ was scared stiff every time he got close and had to hold on for life using the 50 pound weight advantage he had over Huck:oops:
