I think Liston would win this, he has everything foreman has and more. He had better stamina

Probably the two most physically intimidating heavyweights ever.

Hard one to call. Liston is the better boxer out of the two. Foreman had more raw power.....yes,even more than Liston. Both men had pretty tough chins.

I would say the first who lands a combination flush takes it. A real 50/50 one.

Here we go with the stamina again.
As if this one is going to the cards:patsch

Foreman had one ability Liston never learned, what was it?:huh

And please no more juvenile insults, they are just so predictable.

Sonny would win this by late knockout.

Their styles (especially when Foreman was prime) were made to favor Liston.

Sonny could box or brawl Foreman. As we know George was a big puncher but so was Sonny. Liston took great shots off Cleveland Williams and didn't wobble, whereas Foreman claims the hardest puncher he ever faced was Ron Lyle, who is no Sonny Liston.

Liston also had a better jab than Foreman, who developed it more in his comeback. The main reason Sonny would win is stamina, Liston could box laid back for 15 rounds whereas Foreman fights wild and can't go much longer than 8-9 rounds.

Oversimplification from someone who doesnt know what they are watching. You accuse me of knowing absolutely nothing about boxing. Then you make a fatuous statement like ," "Sonny could box laid back for 15rds".

Tell me in which fight he EVER DID THIS?

Foreman could go the distance when he was 45, but he couldn't when he was 25 because he lacked stamina when he wes in his prime?
Have you the slightest idea how absolutely idiotic and stupid that statement is?

    Its PACING you daft twat:patsch
Now lets see if you know the slightest thing about your subject.
To refer to your comment that,"he has everything Foreman has and more".
Which attribute did Foreman possess that Liston did not?

Cutting the ring off with Sonny is not a good thing.

Forcing him to throw bombs is not a good thing. George has no chance. He is purely a puncher. Sonny is a boxer that hit really hard. Really hard. Sonny was smarter fighter than George was at 25. Seriously, the younger slimmer Liston was a good boxer, with good defense. It is a similar style match up of old George verses Holyfield, yet George is faster and Liston hits harder.

how can foreman say anything else but lyle being the hardest puncher he faced
so why do you say who isnt exactly liston. he beat lyle so yeh he was hurt he was hit and he didnt get knocked out. he won by ko. so if he chose the hardest puncher he ever FACED and it was lyle, its got no bearing on this fight. also i dont rate liston yeh he was a beast but he wasnt the man hes made out to be. if got hit by foreman he would stay down, and id reckon foreman would hit him and put him down. no one brawls with foreman and gets away with it, and liston is not gonna dance around picking foreman off with perfectly timed counters and get out the way he isnt that sort of fighter and he never showed that ability, he did show his ponderous footwork though. :good
