Technically they were BOTH Jamaican.. but yes they both trained and fought out of Canada. Not an important detail however... Trevor Berbick and Razor Ruddock were two tough heavys who were reasonably durable and could pack a punch. Neither were masters of the sweet science, though Donovan was actually a pretty good technical boxer earlier in his career. Then he packed on muscle. Found out he could KO guys.. and so came the transition from boxer to puncher. Berbick could box a little too but was a good brawler up close. Both men fought in their share of wars. As for who wins I think we’re drawing straws but I lean towards Trevor by a decision. He didn’t have the kind of power needed to stop Ruddock the way that Lewis had but he had enough to hurt him and keep him honest. He also had good stamina and a chin and could go 15 rounds. Lastly Berbick proved he could beat high ranked heavies in their primes. I don’t think Ruddock ever beat a named foe at his pinnacle.

Berbick was the much more accomplished fighter. Beat a who's who of top 80s heavyweights on the way up and overachieved by beating Pinklon Thomas for the WBC title in '86. Also the first to go 15 rounds with Holmes in a title defense. Frustratingly inconsistent at times but once he dug in and found his groove, he was going to maul and brawl his way to a decision or late stoppage. Tough, tough fighter and very physically strong. Beat up boxers but big punchers could be his kryptonite. Too strong for Ruddock. Mauls his way to a 12 round decision. A little bit underrated. Check out his record.

    Ruddock.

I don't like Berbick against hitters. He walks into punches. And he'll wade right in after this guy as well. Too bad Trevor never really jabbed his way in or anything. And he won't be walking through this guy's punches.

Interesting fight.Ruddock could stop Trev early if he catches him early but if it goes into the late rnd Berbick could win on points or late stoppage as he brawls away.would've been good to see Berbick in with a really big hitter a Bruno fight was a possibility .Trev was a complete nutter strong and tough but completely hatstand !

Berbick was the best "Canadian" heavyweight apart from Lewis or Langford. He takes it.
