Though I do think he is getting a bit overrated..what does it matter if he fights a few cans in between fights?

He has proven himself against the better fighters he has faced..several of them world class or borderline.
Your carrying on like he lost to these blokes or something. Not every fighter has the luxury of fighting once a year for millions like all the headliners.

I dont find George Lopez that funny.

a good fighter, not in williams league, if he was a top fighter he would have been on the world stage 6 years ago, when mosley and DLH, tito, vargas were the top 154

    he beat cintron.

sergio martinez = slow? man what the hell? he's hella awkward and he's also a very mobile fighter. i like watching him fight. can be slick at times. he's a good fighter. top 3 at lmw for sure. toughest match-up for p.will in that division.

He may be a bit overrated...I don't know....but I've only seen the guy fight once again Cintron and he got robbed in that fight. From what I saw, he's an excellent boxer and would fair well against anyone at 154-160 IMO.

his rep is based almost entirely on one fight, an HBO undercard fight versus alex bunema, who many thought would win... nobody had ever heard of sergio martinez up to that point, and he was dazzling

    Exactly.
So he fought a few cans.
He looked great against Bunema. Considering that Bunema had recently come off a win over Karmazin.

The Latin Joe Calzaghe :rofl. I don't think Martinez punches are as slappy, but I see what you mean. Martinez will give any Light Middleweight problems. He's got very good speed, I wouldn't call him slow.

though I didn't read all that, Martinez has a solid boxing record. However i think Paul Willians, Dzinziruk, and Santos are all better than him.
