Whats everyones thoughts on usyks weight at heavyweight . For his heavyweight debut he weighed 215 . which is i think is ideal . i think he should stick anywhere from 210 215 and try not to go above 220. . usyk being 6'3 and 215 hes fitting into the size of the heavyweights from the 60's era. Back then in the 60's, 70's and 80's heavyweights that were 6 '1 to 6'3 weighed 210 to 220 average. The bigger heavies weighed 225 . now you have heavies being 6'2 6'3. Weighing 230 240 and sometimes up to 250 Weighing about 20 pounds extra than what they use to in the 60's. Holyfield and Haye were about the same sizs as usyk and carried way more power as well as athleticism and speed. However i think usyk not being to rough and rugged . bringing more finesse than fire to the division while staying under 220 with being 215 the most, brings him an advantage.
I do not think he should go over 220 at all . at 215 he carries decent power and he should be fine .

He wins on speed and activity..He needs to come in at a weight he can maintain those.

I'm not worried if he takes longer or can't knock out the bigger boys..that's not how he has won fights in the past.

Usyk vs Wilder should be next IMO. Both men's weight are almost the same.

Usyk's height and weight is perfect. 6'3" 220. not too big, and not too small...

With his talent and the lack therof in the current crop, it should be enough, right?!
Technically he's so much better, as he "only" has to avoid a big punch for 12 rounds and crooked judges.

He can't build himself up as the former (and only other) undisputed Cruiserweight champ, because you can't get away with cleaning out the pharmacy without suffering at least a brutally long 6 month ban nowadays.

    Some people are just bigger.
Manny is about 5´6 and competes at 147. He could probably make 135 but even there, he would be the shortest in the top 10.

Alvarez is 5´8 and at least 175lbs. He isn´t even nearly as muscular as Tyson.

Sonny Boy Jaro was an absolute tank at the lower weights. He was a champ at 112 and quickly moved up through the weight classes. At about 5´2 he is the same height as current champions at 105.

Realistically speaking, John Ryder doesn´t belong at 168. Dude is only 5´9. But he can´t even make 160.

Not everyone is built the same.

Have you never met Tyson in real life? He's incredibly densely made. His head alone looks like something from a dunkleosteus skeleton.

Tua was even more thickly set. His whole body was like a compact block of bone and muscle.

Usyk's problem isn't his weight but rather his lack of punching power.
