He's carrying too much weight for me and was out of shape in general for 3rd fight with Wilder. I'd say 260-265lbs is good enough. At this weight he'll be quick enough and have enough excess weight to crush people and dodge shots. Approaching 280 and you're taking the ****. He was too fat on saturday.
254 is just over 18 stone, isn't it? If that's the case then I think that would be good enough of a weight for Usyk. It would make him 30lbs heavier. 270lbs for whyte definitely.
Depends who he's fighting. Coming in heavy for some fights might aid him but had he come in at 277lbs vs Wlad, I struggle to see how he would of pulled of the same game plan. But Fury whatever the weight adapts. He probably chose the strategy he chose vs Wilder this time because he knew he would be heavier and decided to use that weight to aid him. If he's fighting Usyk then he needs to come in much lighter in the 250's at most because Usyk's speed and movement will give him fits. But for most opponents around 260lbs is probably fine at that weight he's bigger than anyone not named Joyce but will have enough speed to box and move when needed.
Agree with that. I think expecting him to get under 260 will be a hard ask, he isn't in his 20s and he put his body through hell during his retirement. That was kind of the reason he changed trainer because he was "weak as a kitten" when he fought Wallin after trying to cut weight.
The days of Fury dancing around the ring are gone. He's a brawler now and for me he will come in around 270 whoever he fights.
I think getting down to that weight in a sensible manner (maintaining a healthy diet, keeping his fitness levels decent while he isn't in camp and basically not allowing himself to blow up to 300+ lbs) will be the key for Fury in this regard.
Wilder 3 weight. His punches are very powerful in that weight. But, I didn't like his footwork. Wilder 3 weight with better footwork. This is the only answer.
He can come in at whatever weight he wants, he will win fights based on just leaning on his opponents
I think he needs some liposuction on his muffin top! But seriously, that's just extra weight that not really helping in any way. I think if he was a more solid 260-265 it would be a nice in-between for him. He doesn't need to be super lean a bodybuilder like AJ but a bit more functional muscle and less excess fat. Some fat is beneficial for people's energy levels, but too much will slow you down.
The 270's are fine, but it's how he gets there. He was 274 for Abell on bad diet and minimal training. He was 273 for Wilder II, properly fuelled and conditioned well, and I believe that is the best Tyson Fury I've ever seen. If he gets back in that groove, and I expect he will, God help anyone in his path.
